Bedroom Track Lighting

Track lighting is a versatile lighting solution suitable for use around the home. Bedroom track lighting can provide a complete solution, or be used alongside decorative pendants, wall lights or bedside lights as part of an overall lighting scheme.

Bedroom track lighting can be surface mounted, recessed or suspended. The best installation method to opt for depends on the ceiling height, ceiling material and your interior decor and personal preference.

Surface mounting, where the track is attached directly to the ceiling surface, is the simplest method of installation, and the most popular for this reason. Surface mounting is a low profile and unobtrusive option.

Recessing track sets it into the ceiling, to sit flush with the ceiling surface. This approach can be preferred in minimal, contemporary interiors, as it leaves the ceiling clear and uncluttered. However, it is a more complex installation method, and not suitable for some ceiling materials, such as concrete.

Suspending track is usually considered in spaces with high or vaulted ceilings. Track is suspended on adjustable wires, allowing the light level to be brought down from the ceiling to your required height.

Where bedroom track lighting will be placed should also inform your choice. For example, if track is placed in front of a cupboard, surface mounted track might be a better choice than suspended track which could block the doors.

Track is available in a variety of lengths, with white and black being the most common finishes. Track accessories can be used to join lengths together at corners, cross-sections or T junctions, creating any size or configuration of track layout required. An example of bedroom track lighting could be a small straight run in front of a wardrobe or closet, to clearly illuminate the contents.

Track lighting uses LEDs, which give the flexibility to tailor a track solution to your exact requirements. LED track lights are available in a choice of beam angles, colour temperatures and wattages. Track lights with a narrow beam angle can be used to highlight artwork or architectural or other design features. Track lights with a wide beam angle will give more of a wall wash effect.

It is recommended that bedroom track lighting uses LEDs with a warm colour temperature, around 3000K, which give a warmer and cozier ambience.
