Track lighting is a customisable lighting solution which allows multiple lights to be fitted to a track with simple installation. Track lighting is available in a range of finishes to suit your decor. Brushed nickel track lighting offers a more decorative option than simple black or white and can suit contemporary or more traditional interiors.
Linear brushed nickel track lighting can be surface mounted, recessed or suspended depending on the setting, preference, ceiling height and ceiling material. It is available in a variety of lengths making it adaptable for a wide range of applications within the home or in commercial spaces, from a kitchen to a bathroom or entryway. Using joiners, track can be fitted together in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Surface mounting brushed nickel track lighting offers the easiest installation. It is possible to mount track to most ceiling surfaces. Recessing track, to set it into the ceiling, is more complex and isn’t suitable for all ceiling materials. Suspending track is recommended for spaces with high or vaulted ceilings, as it brings the light level down to the required height. Suspended track can also be used over a kitchen island or over a table to provide a decorative feature, with an industrial look. Suspension wires are adjustable so lights can be hung at your preferred height.
A light fixture which mounts to the linear track is referred to as a track lighting head. Brushed nickel track lighting can be complemented by lighting heads in a brushed nickel finish, with various designs ranging from modern spotlights to antique styles. You could also opt for brushed nickel fixtures and black track. Track lighting heads can be adjusted to place directional light where it is needed. A benefit of track lighting is that the lighting heads are not fixed in place, they can move up and down the track if you want to update your interior.
If you prefer a more flexible brushed nickel track lighting system, you might want to consider monorail track lighting. This uses a flexible rail that can be bent to provide curved or circular installations. An advantage of monorail is that pendants and track lighting heads can both be used.
Brushed nickel track lighting heads may use halogen or LED bulbs. LEDs are recommended as the best option, for their energy efficiency, long lifespan and excellent quality of light. Some fixtures may use an integrated LED.
If you are unsure how to choose brushed nickel track lighting, there are kits which contain the components you will need for a complete solution.
